Message from the Director

The UBC Surgical Foundations Residency Program includes PGY1 and PGY2 residents in Cardiovascular Surgery, General Surgery, Neurosurgery, Otolaryngology, Plastic Surgery, Vascular Surgery, Orthopedics and Urology. We coordinate activities in conjunction with the home Program Directors which include scheduling rotations, seminars, technical skills sessions, online activities, the CRASH course as well as providing formative assessments. The overall goal of the UBC Surgical Foundations Program is to prepare residents for senior residency in their home discipline by providing opportunities for gaining core competences in all CanMEDS roles. UBC Surgical Foundations also provides support for trainees with our Coaching service.
